It’s a proud moment when a new customer comes to us after viewing other projects we’ve completed!
These lakefront property owners found JBLC this way and were eager to move forward with us on our latest design and installation project.
It took only a few meetings to discuss the owners’ vision and our design was approved.
Our team was happy to get to work!
Project preparation:
- Full removal of dead, dying trees, shrubs, and lawn
- Viable tree and shrub pruning
- Renovation of the existing irrigation system
- Adding additional irrigation zones to accommodate new plants
Because we were installing multiple new plants, all of the soil within the beds would need to be amended. We used premium topsoil and a new product called Deep Roots that improves soil health and encourages root growth.
Once our plant choice and placement design was approved, we began the installation.
The front landscape plants and design include:
- Ornamental crabapple trees
- A beautiful tri-color beech tree, ten arborvitae trees offer privacy along the property line
- Ornamental shrubs such as re-blooming weigela, re-blooming lilacs, and various varieties of white hydrangeas
- Boxwoods (evergreen shrubs) provide structure and four-season appeal along the driveway and in front of the decorative wing walls at the entrance to the driveway
Elements to further enhance and complete the landscape included:
- Installation of new ‘LED’ lighting
- A mixture of ‘up’ light fixtures to highlight the trees
- Path and accent light fixtures throughout all of the beds
- Installation of a beautiful sod lawn to provide the perfect finishing touch
Once the front yard was completed, we moved on to back yard prep and installation with the same aesthetic, on a slightly smaller scale.
The property owners were delighted with our work and especially appreciative that we were able to adhere to our timeline, despite weather challenges.
The plants continue to thrive and fill in the space. We are proud of both the project and our continued maintenance service!
